ANTI-AHMADIYYA VIDEO TARGETING LITTLE CHILDREN IS GOING VIRAL TO SOW THE SEEDS OF HATRED, FANATICISM, AND BIGOTRY IN THE MINDS OF INNOCENT PAKISTANI CHILDREN
ANTI-AHMADIYYA VIDEO TARGETING LITTLE CHILDREN IS GOING VIRAL TO SOW THE SEEDS OF HATRED, FANATICISM, AND BIGOTRY IN THE MINDS OF INNOCENT PAKISTANI CHILDREN

A new, anti-Ahmadiyya video targeting little children in Pakistan is going viral.  The crude animated video is meant to sow the seeds of hatred, fanaticism and bigotry in the minds of innocent Pakistani children.  Rather than teaching tolerance, the video perpetuates false stereotypes against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and calls on all Pakistanis, including children, to consider Ahmadi Muslims subversive and blasphemous infidels.  It also asks Pakistanis to boycott Ahmadi goods, products and services.

This video ad is inconsistent with international norms and values concerning freedom of religion and belief, as enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), on the freedom of religion, and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which was ratified by Pakistan in 2008.  Three other UN human rights treaties, as well as numerous General Assembly Resolutions and Human Rights Committee comments, prohibit religious discrimination. This video also violates Pakistan’s own National Action Plan as well as the recently enacted cybercrime laws because it fuels hatred, discrimination and persecution against members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan.

Nonetheless, the Pakistani government authorities, who continue to bring frivolous cases against Ahmadi Muslims under anti-Ahmadiyya, blasphemy, and cybercrime laws, turns a blind eye towards systematic and countrywide efforts by Islamic extremists to fan hatred and ignite violence against  Ahmadi  Muslims.  Instead of prosecuting the makers of this video under cybercrime laws and the National Action Plan, the governmental authorities continue to protect and support extremists and target innocent Ahmadis.

We call upon the Pakistani authorities to honor their international human rights commitments to protect religious freedom and promote religious tolerance towards the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. We respectfully request all members of the international community to urge the government of Pakistan to take urgent steps to bring its laws and practices in conformity with international standards as ordained by UDHR and ICCPR.

ANOTHER COLD-BLOODED MURDER OF AN AHMADI MEDICAL ASSISTANT IN PAKISTAN
ANOTHER COLD-BLOODED MURDER OF AN AHMADI MEDICAL ASSISTANT IN PAKISTAN

It is with agonizing heart-rending grief that we come to you with the horrible news of the murder of a medical assistant ABDUL QADIR working in the Clinic of Dr. Bin Yameen in the Bazid Khel area of Peshawar, Pakistan.

On Thursday February 11 2021, at around 2 p.m. when the clinic staff was on break for lunch and afternoon prayers, someone rang the clinic doorbell and Abdul Qadir opened the door to answer the bell. He was instantly shot twice and fell at the doorsteps. He was taken to hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries and died.

Abdul Qadir was a senior member of the clinic staff. He was 65 years old. He was very well respected in the local community and was always very kind and helpful to the patients.

We have been regularly informing the sober minded advocates and defenders of human rights, of the monstrous wave of persecution, torture, harassment, and target killings of Ahmadis because of their faith and belief, going on in Pakistan.

The Government, its judiciary and law & order maintaining agencies are not taking any notice of the atrocities upon the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan and the venomous clergy are at liberty to carry on their acts of butchery against Ahmadis.

You will be shocked to hear that just in recent months this is the eighth killing of an Ahmadi and the fifth one in Peshawar which is in the province under the rule of the Governing Party PTI. There are in addition countless fabricated cases filed in courts against Ahmadis and threats and acts of violence all over Pakistan.

PAKISTAN TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY (PTA) ISSUE ORDER TO REMOVE AHMADIYYA-RELATED DIGITAL CONTENT ON GOOGLE AND WIKIPEDIA
PAKISTAN TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY (PTA) ISSUE ORDER TO REMOVE AHMADIYYA-RELATED DIGITAL CONTENT ON GOOGLE AND WIKIPEDIA

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a victim of state-sponsored persecution in Pakistan for the last many decades and a number of Ahmadis are prisoner of conscience for their religious beliefs. Recently, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority of the Pakistan Government has enacted new regulations that would extend the reach of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws to even Ahmadi Muslims living outside of Pakistan, including Europe and the United States.

On December 25, 2020, PTA issued takedown notices to Google and Wikipedia to remove content associated with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.  The Pakistan Government is (1) requiring Wikipedia to remove articles portraying the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, as a Muslim; and (2) requiring Google to remove a Google play app published by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which provides Arabic and English translations of the Qur’an, and (3) requiring Google to change their algorithm for the search queries “Khalifa of Islam” and “Caliph of Islam”.  PTA has threatened penalties and prosecution for non-compliance.

On December 30, 2020, the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court heard a petition “Seeking Removal of Qadiyani [Ahmadi] Caliph name as Muslims Caliph from Google Search.” The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court instructed high-ranking federal officials to find a way to issue criminal warrants for any individuals or entities outside Pakistan who are publishing online content deemed “blasphemous” by Pakistani authorities.  The PTA Chairman assured the Chief Justice that his agency was working tirelessly toward this goal.

It is astonishing to note here that neither the Lahore High Court nor PTA

has any authority of policing anyone who is not subject to their jurisdiction.

Pakistan is acting in complete disregard of its international human rights commitments to protect the basic human rights of Ahmadi Muslims, and if concrete steps are not taken for compelling Pakistan to fulfil its international obligations, state-backed vigilantism will harm all peaceful religious communities living in Pakistan.

A HORRIFYING MURDER OF AN ELDERLY MEMBER OF THE AHMADIYYA MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN
A HORRIFYING MURDER OF AN ELDERLY MEMBER OF THE AHMADIYYA MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN

The world community would be shocked to hear of the murder of another innocent Ahmadi, Mahboob Khan, brutally murdered in Peshawar, Pakistan, because of his faith and belief. Ahmadis are continuously being targeted in various cities of Pakistan and more recently in Peshawar while the Government of Pakistan has repeatedly failed to protect and stop the violence against the members of the Ahmadiyya community.

Mehboob Khan, 82 years old and a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community was killed in Peshawar on 8th November 2020. He was a retired official from the Public health services. He was on his way back home after visiting his daughter when unknown assailants shot at him while he was waiting for a bus at the stop. He was shot at a very close range, close to his head, killing him instantly. As a member of he Ahmadiyya Muslim community Mehboob Khan was facing persecution and threats to his life because of his faith.

This is the fourth murder of an Ahmadi in Peshawar during the past few months. Several governments and NGOs have condemned such murders and have demanded that the Government of Pakistan must take decisive action against such heinous acts of violence that are the direct result of the ongoing religious hatred spread by the Clerics against the Ahmadis in Pakistan. As a result of such hatred and targeted attacks, Ahmadis in Pakistan live under a threatening sense of insecurity and fear. Such killings are clearly an evidence that the government and law enforcing agencies are less bothered and intentionally ignoring to protect and safeguard the lives and properties of Ahmadis.

Hate campaigns against Ahmadis in recent months are on the increase. The Government of Pakistan has turned a blind eye towards the plight of members of the Ahmadiyya Community and has failed to act against those behind such hate campaigns.

Despite the repeated rhetoric of the Pakistan Government that Ahmadis are free and not persecuted, nothing is further from the truth. Pakistan is unable to safeguard and protect Ahmadis who are citizens of Pakistan. The evidence is compelling, overwhelming and beyond dispute. The Government of Pakistan needs to get its act together to ensure the safety and protection of all its citizens.

Statement by Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in light of Recent Developments in France
Statement by Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in light of Recent Developments in France

Following today’s attack in Nice and following on from the murder of Samuel Paty on 16 October, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has condemned all forms of terrorism and extremism and called for mutual understanding and dialogue between all peoples and nations.

His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad states:

“The murder and beheading of Samuel Paty and the attack in Nice earlier today must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Such grievous attacks are completely against the teachings of Islam. Our religion does not permit terrorism or extremism under any circumstances and anyone who claims otherwise acts against the teachings of the Holy Quran and contrary to the noble character of the Holy Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

As the worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the victims and to the French nation. Let it be clear that our condemnation and hatred of such attacks is not something new but has always been our position and stance. The Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (peace be upon him) and his Successors have always categorically rejected all forms of violence or bloodshed in the name of religion.

The fallout from this heinous act has further exacerbated the tensions between the Islamic world and the West and between Muslims living in France and the rest of society. We consider this to be a source of deep regret and a means of further undermining the peace and stability of the world. We must all join together to root out all forms of extremism and to encourage mutual understanding and tolerance. From our perspective, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will spare no effort in our mission to foster a better understanding of the true and peaceful teachings of Islam in the world.”
