The smart core and total body trainer has won the German Design Award 2021 and the German Innovation Award 2021.
MUNICH, GERMANY, June 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — In retrospect, the idea sounds brilliantly simple: to build a balance board from a wooden board for the forearm support (plank) as one of the most effective training exercises ever and to develop game apps for the smartphone or tablet to playfully get in shape and work on your six-pack. The result was the simply ingenious Plankpad – Designed in Germany! The jurors of the German Innovation Award and the German Design Award agree and have awarded the Plankpad with gold. The Plankpad is the world’s first app-based full-body trainer that combines workouts with games.
Instead of just fighting the clock, the app (available for iOS and Android) motivates intense workouts through varied games. Simply place your smartphone or tablet on the board, lean on it in the plank position, and control the games through your movements. The games challenge your playful ambition and distract you from the strenuous workout. You focus on the game and keep up the forearm support quite incidentally – and significantly longer. The app can also be streamed to any smart TV, turning the workout in the living room into an event for the whole family.
German Innovation Award Winner 2021 Plankpad received the German Innovation Award 2021 in the Travel, Sports and Outdoor Goods category for its innovative approach and was recognized for its excellent “business to consumer” quality. The jury’s statement sums up the concept nicely: “Plankpad is the first app-supported balance whole-body trainer. The minimalist design and ergonomic proportions enable dynamic planking and stand up balancing. The app synchronized with the board offers exciting games and professional workouts. It motivates users of almost any age. The highly efficient Plank exercises train all important muscle groups simultaneously. In combination with the smartphone, Plankpad becomes a sportification and gamification tool. Via TV streaming, Plankpad turns into a surfboard, for example, and becomes an experience for the whole family. Plankpad makes exercising fun, helps prevent back pain, and promotes edutainment and fitness training for kids. The Plankpad app will be successively expanded with games, workouts and learning content.”
German Design Award Winner 2021 In the category Sports, Outdoor, Activities and Leisure, the Plankpad Studio Edition receives the German Design Award 2021 with its extraordinary product design. The simplicity, contemporary design and high effectiveness convinced the jury of the full-body trainer: “The simple, contemporary designed and highly effective product follows the trend towards digitalization in sports with a combination of app and multi-purpose board. This allows for a variety of exercises tailored specifically to the user’s profile.”
The combination of app and multipurpose board not only enables a variety of specially tailored exercises for the user, but it also follows the trend of digitalization in sports. And thus makes it one of the design products of the year.
Playfully to the six pack Planking is one of the most effective exercises ever, but it’s also one of the most boring. To make planking more interesting and fun for everyone, André Reinegger, founder of Plankpad, developed the interactive balance board. The Plankpad creates an exciting and comfortable combination of fun and sport to stay in shape while playing. It is versatile and fun for all ages, genders, beginners and professional athletes. The dynamic Plank workouts have also made it the focus of trainers, orthopedists and professional athletes. In addition to toned abs and increased stability, the exercises improve posture and can prevent back pain.
Very amusing are the various games, e.g. “Duck Shoot” or “Wave Rider”, which train arms, shoulders, back, abdomen, buttocks and legs simultaneously and highly efficiently. By moving left and right to control the game, the body becomes the controller, thus working even more muscles. In just a few minutes a day you can build muscle, burn fat and improve overall posture.
About Plankpad The Plankpad, developed by Aachen-based Hallo Products GmbH, is the first app-supported total body trainer that combines workout and games. The Plankpad creates an exciting and comfortable combination of fun and sport. It is versatile and entertaining for every age, gender, beginners and professionals. Thanks to the app it improves the training motivation and leads to faster results. The Plankpad has an aesthetic design and is made of high-quality maple wood in walnut look and a soft surface, with room for a smartphone or tray. Plankpad comes with its own app.
LOUDON, NH, UNITED STATES, June 25, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The 98th Annual Loudon Classic weekend by Mayhew Tools featured three days of perfect weather, fans from all over New England and racing with the NorthEast Motorcycle Road Racing (NEMRR) series. NEMRR is part of the national Championship Cup Series organization and riders from the Northeast, Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic regions competed in a twin sprint weekend that ran an impressive 45 races in total.
The feature events of the weekend were the three Grand Prix classes, which boasted $9500 in purse money in total. Specialty Saw presented the Seacoast Sport Cycle Lightweight Grand Prix class and the Street and Competition Unlimited Grand Prix classes. Mayhew Tools was the title sponsor of the featured Loudon Classic Middleweight Grand Prix class together with presenting sponsors Motorace and New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In the twin sprint format the lap times from the Friday races were used to set the grid for the Saturday main events, and the Friday Motorace Middleweight Grand Prix race featured a $1500 purse.
Saturday’s feature races were held in front of a fantastic crowd and led off with the two support classes presented by Specialty Saw, Lightweight GP and Unlimited GP. First off were the small displacement machines and NEMRR #1 rider Rick Doucette of Sandown, NH showed why he was the heavy favorite, scoring the holeshot and running a string of blazing fast laps in the 1:14 and 1:15 range on his special de-stroked Yamaha R5. The surprise of the day came from Eli Block riding a strong running KTM 450 motard bike who challenged Doucette right to the very end. The Motard bike was down on power to machine of Doucette, but the combination of the nimble handling and equisite skill of Block made for an incredibly entertaining race to watch. Block was especially fast on the brakes and would be all over the back tire of Doucette in the back section of the track. In the end Doucette’s experience and consistency proved too much to handle as he pulled out the win by 0.4 seconds at the line. The battle for third was a similar battle between the SV650 of Steven Hieder and the Honda 450 motard of Moto America Junior Cup star Ben Gloddy, and in this case the motard won the battle and claimed the last spot on the podium.
In the Unlimited GP feature, pole sitter Shane Narbonne was forced to ride his Yamaha R6 after his Suzuki GSXR1000 suffered a mechanical failure. Scott Mullin won the drag race off the line, and 2nd row starter Eric Wood of Ashburnham, MA was able to use the power of his Kawasaki ZX10 to pass Narbonne to assume 2nd place as the trio rocketed into turn 1. Wood made an inside pass on Mullin into turn 6 and the two Kawasaki riders began to separate themselves from Narbonne. Mullin kept Wood honest throughout the contest, staying within a few bike lengths until Wood begin to open his advantage to an eventual 2.4 second gap as the pair navigated traffic in the closing laps.
The featured 98th running of the Loudon Classic by Mayhew Tools went off under 84-degree sunshine with a paddock abuzz and stands full of spectators excited to see the action. With all eyes focused on the front row, starting lights came on and perennial NEMRR star Scott Greenwood of Dunbarton, NH made an uncharacteristic mistake. To get a jump on the field, Greenwood launched out of his grid spot too early, a mistake that he clearly signaled as he entered turn one with a gap on the field while he was shaking his head in disbelief. Greenwood would be assessed a 30 second penalty, and the race was on. Greenwood and Narbonne separated themselves from the field while running a string of 1:12 lap times, Narbonne racing for the win and Greenwood racing against the clock to try to secure a podium position despite his penalty. Meanwhile, the battle for the podium was raging between the trio of Rick Doucette, Teagg Hobbs (riding a 600 at NHMS for the first time) and Paul Duval together. The 18-year-old Hobbs was going to be fast to the end and came from a mediocre start through Doucette and up to the rear wheel of Duval. After several laps sizing up his competitor Hobbs finally made the move forward and separated himself in the later stages of the race from his competitor to secure a solid 2nd place. Duval was racing against Greenwood and the 30 second penalty, and in the end managed to keep the gap to less than 30 seconds and finished the 20-lap final on the podium. Rounding out the top 6 were Greenwood in 4th, Doucette and 5th and young upstart Joe LiMandri in 6th. The top finishing amateur rider was Paul Hosue, finishing a very respectable 12th place in a field of 27 riders.

Idaho Fish and Game is stocking 178,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout throughout the state in July.
With so many fish stocked in so many places, it can be hard for anglers to sift through the stocking forecasts and records to identify noteworthy stocking events. To make it easier, we asked Fish and Game hatchery staff to highlight some stocking events for the month.
Many of the waters highlighted below are easy to access, family-friendly fishing destinations. All you need to get started is a fishing license and some basic tackle. Annual adult fishing licenses cost around $30, junior licenses (ages 14-17) cost $16, and youth under 14 fish for free. Click here to buy a license.
Fishing for stocked rainbow trout, particularly in community ponds, is a great way to introduce new anglers to the sport by using simple (and relatively thrifty) set-ups like worm/marshmallow combinations or commercial baits like Power Bait or Crave, either near the bottom or below a bobber. The Learn to Fish webpage offers diagrams for basic bait rigs.
Most Idaho waters are open to fishing year-round, but some may have slightly different rules. Be sure to pick up a 2019-21 Idaho Fishing Seasons and Rules Booklet, which outlines season dates, special regulations and bag limits at any Idaho Fish and Game offices or most sporting goods stores statewide.
Need a little help reading Idaho’s fishing regulations? Click here to view a short video on how to use the fishing season and rules book.

Below are two recent client interview excerpts:
– Laura Crawford, Founder of Eco disposable nappy company, Mama Bamboo In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges faced by ‘women disruptors’ that aren’t typically faced by their male counterparts?
I don’t know if it’s a ‘women’ issue or an ‘age’ issue, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been patronised by older men during business discussions. It is an odd assumption that I need their fatherly guidance and can be talked around to their will if they simply lecture me at length. I always want to stop them right there and explain that I have a father, and he’s been a great support, most of all because he taught me to know my own mind and trust myself.
You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. ????
Oh, I’m not sure I’m that influential, but if I could inspire a movement it would be two-fold:-
I would make it immediately illegal to ship any of our waste abroad for processing. It is absolutely disgraceful that any UK waste ends up in Indonesia or on the beaches of Turkey. We made the mess. We should clean it up. And keeping it here in its complete volumes would force the Government to address the plastics issue much more strongly. I would also really like to establish a circular economy model for all compostable and bioplastic materials as soon as possible. I think it’s wonderful that responsible manufacturers are switching away from oil-based plastics and consumers are voting for change with every pound spent on these products, but it’s heart-breaking that the full benefits of these investments cannot be seen because DEFRA and the local councils have put this in the ‘too hard to sort out’ folder and instead have heralded their minor wins on paper straws and ear buds as the pinnacle of environmental achievement. . Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?
“What’s the worst that can happen?”
Whenever I’ve felt scared, nervous or hesitant about taking a big decision, I use the “What’s the worst that can happen?” question to quell my fears. More often than not, the worst case scenario is you lose some money, or you have to give up an idea and start again. In business, rarely will the answer be sudden death, harm to others or total obliteration the planet.
NOTE: I don’t recommend this model if you are a heart surgeon or US president with your finger on the button.
– Amy & Scott Malin, married dynamic duo behind the new Trueheart search engine Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you two got married?
AM: Over the last thirteen years of being together, we got married, created our family and became business partners, so there have been so many fun adventures. In our professional lives, we’ve been blessed to work with so many interesting, talented and wonderfully generous people. We were honored to direct Jack Black in our Superheroes For Kids campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and that was a blast!
SM: Jack is a comedic genius and he was wonderful to work with! As storytellers, to have someone as accomplished as Jack bring our concept to life in the most hilarious way, was a dream come true. The patients loved him! In the same campaign, Mark Cuban starred opposite two amazing Miracle Kids in our Shark Tank parody. He was such a good sport and really made it all about the kids. We’ll remember this project forever and feel so lucky to have had this incredible experience.
AM: I’ll always be so proud of this campaign and that we were able to showcase these inspiring Miracle Kids as superheroes. Definitely one of the highlights of my career!

William Lindemann Highlights New Trends that Will Shape Soccer in 2021
William Lindemann On New Trends that Will Shape Soccer in 2021
William Lindemann On New Trends that Will Shape Soccer in 2021
CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES, June 24, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — International soccer has witnessed its fair share of changes over the past decade. Like any global industry, new developments must be anticipated that will shape the sport for the rest of the decade and beyond. From players using their international platforms to speak out on politics to clubs utilizing big data to make decisions, soccer enthusiast William Lindemann Connecticut lists the following trends that could be highly impactful to soccer in the next decade.Increase Dominance Amongst the Large Clubs
With continually rising revenue from an increasingly international audience, the game is the richest it has ever been. In the 2009/2010 season, the English Premier League clubs spent a collective $630.4 million on players. With the January transfer window just opening for this season, those same clubs have spent $1.83 billion on players.
The goal of the top clubs in the five biggest European leagues is to stay rich. However, signs that television revenue has peaked are challenging these same top clubs to find new ways of generating revenue during the 2020s decade.
More Focus on Player Well-Being
This is the first season ever where the Premier League is giving players a winter break. While a sufficient argument exists, that players are remunerated and shouldn’t need a break, the Christmas period can be challenging with matches every few days. Then combined with international tournaments during the summer and many players are performing nonstop.
William Lindemann Connecticut believes the next decade will present advancements in injury prevention. Teams are keen to ensure their prized assets are protected and return as fast as possible from an injury. A small investment in injury prevention technology will lower the risk for players worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Smarter Decisions
Soccer has been one of the slowest of the big sports to adopt statistical analysis, despite the countless benefits toward informed decision-making. William Lindemann Connecticut predicts this will change during the 2020s decade. The plan is to make data-based tactical and scouting decisions more effective and efficient.
Liverpool is the leading club to use data to drive decisions by implementing a more scientific way of working to reap the rewards. As the current European and world champion team, they are on track to win the Premier League by playing fast, calculated, and devastating soccer. Liverpool’s success is a tremendous argument for taking a more analytical approach to different situations.
Socially Conscious Players
The best players in the world are being more vocal across all sports toward off-field local and global issues. William Lindemann Connecticut believes a greater involvement for all players in the future. While this is understandable, this could be construed as biased from the clubs’ perspectives and players can alienate fans thus making the sport less appealing to sponsors.
On the other hand, more players are speaking up and donating part of their salaries to charities of interest. One of the greatest issues of the next decade is climate change which is not an area players’ have yet touched upon but likely will in the future.

It’s okay to admit it, these tadpole-size fish are pretty darn cute, and kind of like tadpoles that turn into frogs, these babies will turn into Idaho’s own Snake River monster: sturgeon.
Obviously, they’re already sturgeon, but they will hopefully grow into a fish that’s taller than the average Idahoan. These 1-inch fish could be 6 to 8-foot monsters 30 years from now. Sturgeon live incredibly long lives, and they may take 15 to 25 years to grow to 6 feet. They’re special fish in Idaho, and while anglers can fish for sturgeon, it’s strictly catch-and-release fishing only.
The photo shows white sturgeon from the Niagara Springs Hatchery that were 34 days old when the photo was taken. The hatchery is owned by Idaho Power and operated by Idaho Fish and Game.
These sturgeon are part of an ongoing conservation aquaculture program that’s trying to boost sturgeon populations in the Snake River using eggs collected from wild-spawning fish in the river. The project is a collaborative partnership that includes Fish and Game, Idaho Power, Niagara Springs Hatchery and the College of Southern Idaho hatchery in Twin Falls.
Idaho Power has spent a huge amount of time and effort learning how to collect drifting eggs and larvae from the Snake River to make this program a success. These fish were collected in the Snake River near Bliss using specialized nets that capture eggs and larvae drifting downstream from natural spawning areas, but are unlikely to survive if left in the river.
Collecting eggs directly from fish naturally spawning in the Snake River preserves all the genetic diversity of wild populations and eliminates the need to collect adults from the wild and spawn them in captivity. Once collected, the tiny eggs are taken to College of Southern Idaho and Niagara Springs hatcheries, where the eggs are carefully incubated and raised.
After about a year in the hatchery, the juvenile sturgeon reach about 12 inches before being returned to the river. Biologists from Idaho Power and Fish and Game stock them back into the Snake River at many locations between Twin Falls and Brownlee Reservoir in Hells Canyon.
Man-made changes to the Snake River mean most sections of the river no longer have the habitat to support successful sturgeon spawning, so fish raised by this program help support sturgeon sport fishing.
Young anglers statewide submitted their biggest catches for the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s 35th annual Youth Fishing Tournament, held June 5 at more than 30 public freshwater fishing ponds as a fish-on-your-own, semi-virtual event for children ages four through 15.
Tournament participants measured and submitted the length of their catches through the Fishing Chaos app to compete for the title of overall state winner with the biggest fish. The title went to Kane Messina of Millsboro, who caught a bass measuring 21 inches long. Big fish results also included:
Largest largemouth bass:
First place: 21 inches long, Kane Messina, Millsboro
Second place: 16.5 inches long, Evie Whaley, Bridgeville
Third place: 16.25 inches long, Cohen Betts, Milton
Largest chain pickerel: first place, 17.5 inches long, Wesley Whitt, Seaford
Largest yellow perch:
First place: 11 inches long, John Timmons, Georgetown
Second place: 7 inches long, Michael Hopkins, New Castle
Third place: 5.75 inches long, Austin Alderman, Middletown
Largest sunfish:
First place: 9.25 inches long, Brinley Douglas, Middletown
Second place: 9 inches, Brielle Douglas, Middletown
Third place, tie: 8 inches long, Cole Smith, Magnolia; John Timmons, Georgetown; and Colton Wegner, Cave Creek, Ariz.
Largest catfish: first place, 8 inches long, Michael Hopkins, New Castle
Winners will each receive a trophy in the near future.
The tournament was established by the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife and is sponsored by the Delaware Natural Resources Police to introduce youth to the sport of fishing and to teach the catch-and-release approach to conservation, which is encouraged for all participants.
About DNREC The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control protects and manages the state’s natural resources, protects public health, provides outdoor recreational opportunities, and educates Delawareans about the environment. Publisher of The Free Press, Brian Burns said, “We are thrilled to have Rock Riley’s energy as part of The Free Press Sport’s section. His understanding of all things sports and the all-star list of his interviews are fun and informative.”
In college, Jersey-born Rock Riley majored in communications but says he never set foot in a radio or TV studio while in school. His first on-air job, covering high school football for a local cable company, settled any doubts he may have had about what kind of career he wanted. It was definitely going to be sports broadcasting. He’s attended William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, and then St. Leo College after relocating to Florida.
In 1997, he became the weekend TV host of “The Sports Connection” on Bright House cable’s Bay News 9 and was later promoted to weekday anchor two years later. His Tampa Bay radio stints include work on WFLA, WDAE, and 98.7 The Fan WHFS.
Rock has been a national sports reporter covering Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies and the All-Star Game, the NBA finals, and numerous Super Bowls. One, in particular, stands out – Super Bowl XXXVII, the Tampa Bay Bucs’ win in 2003.
Riley exited the cable network in December 2016 and returned to radio July 3, 2017, as the afternoon drive host for sports/talk WHBO AM-1040 The Team.

We all know the myth of the marathoner who announces the Greek victory over the Persians at Marathon and then dies, right? It is also known that the length of the modern marathon of 42 kilometers is based on it, but not everything in history is exactly like that.
There are a few details that are changing, and a story with the English royal family that is often forgotten. And it is extremely important, because it is because of it that the length of the marathon today is not exactly 40, nor exactly 42 km, but 42,195 km, or 26.2 miles.
It is believed that the messenger Phidippides, who lived between 530 and 490 BC. is the man who announces the victory at the Marathon. Phidippides avoids the distance from Marathon to Athens (about 40 km, or 25 miles) to announce the good news – the victory of ancient Greece over Persia in the Battle of Marathon, with the words: “Rejoice, we have won!”, After which he falls and dies of fatigue.
Most historians attribute this story to Herodotus, who wrote the story of the Persian Wars in his History (c. 440 BC). Nowadays, however, history is thought to be simply a legend, the work of the satirist Lucian (or Lucian). He is the only classic source with all the elements of history known in modern culture as “The Marathon Story of Fedipid”: a messenger fleeing the fields of Marathon to declare victory, then die at the end of his mission.
This is exactly how the myth of the Marathon runner was born, after whom the athletics marathon was named. However, such a long run is missing in the ancient games organized in Greece between 776 BC. to 393 AD In fact, the first organized marathon was held on the idea of the French professor Michel Breal during the first modern Olympic Games – those of 1896 in Athens.
The idea of the first organized marathon, which was inspired by the myth of Phidippides and therefore initially set at 40 km, was supported by the “father of the modern Olympic Games” Pierre de Coubertin. The first Olympic champion in the marathon was the Greek Spiridon Lewis, who covered the distance in two hours 58 minutes and 50 seconds, stopping along the way and “recharging” with a glass of wine.
During the next two Olympics, the length of the marathon remained more or less the same, but in 1908, during the London Games, it was extended and its end point was changed to please the royal family, as British tradition dictates such competitions. to begin or end before the eyes of the monarchs.
It was initially decided to start the race in front of Windsor Palace, and the final – at the “White City Stadium” in West London. Subsequently, however, Queen Alexandra insisted that the final be moved by an additional 352 meters – in front of the East Lawn of the castle.
This led to a distance of 42,195 km, or 26.2 miles, which, however, became official only in 1924, which is still in force at all the Olympic Games. In the first seven Olympic Games, there are marathon runs for a total of six different distances in the range between 40 and 42.75 km.
Unlike at the beginning of the twentieth century, when marathons were far from popular, today thousands of marathons are held around the world every year, each of them sitting the same distance.
RALEIGH, N.C. (June 21, 2021) — This Independence Day, anyone in North Carolina, regardless of age, will be able to fish for free. Free Fishing Day, which runs from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on July 4, offers residents and out-of-state visitors the opportunity to fish without having to purchase a license; however, all other fishing regulations apply, such as length and daily possession limits, as well as bait and tackle restrictions.
North Carolina’s annual free fishing day was authorized by the N.C. General Assembly in 1994 and sponsored by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. It always falls on the July Fourth holiday.
“Free Fishing Day was created to promote the sport of fishing and is a great opportunity for families to try a new outdoor activity,” said Christian Waters, the agency’s chief of the Inland Fisheries Division. “Fishing is relatively inexpensive recreational sport that anyone, no matter what their age or skill level, can enjoy. It’s an excellent way to enjoy quality time together in a relaxing setting on the water.”
Waters added that the Commission’s website, ncwildlife.org, is a value resource for tips about where and what to fish, and the state’s Tackle Loaner Program.
“The interactive fishing and boating maps on the agency’s website list more than 500 fishing and boating areas, many of which are free, that are open to the public. Also, to give anglers a better chance of catching fish, the Commission stocks a variety of fish in waters across the state. Stocking information can also be found on the website. ”
Anglers should remember that boating areas likely will be crowded over the busy holiday weekend. Wildlife officials urge boaters to be patient, courteous and follow the boating etiquette tips below:
Be patient and remain calm until an open parking space is available.
Wait your turn in the launch line. Don’t block or cut off others.
Park your vehicle and trailer while someone moves the boat away from the ramp.
Recruit someone to move the boat away from the ramp while you retrieve your vehicle and trailer.
Observe no-wake zones and be cautious.
While anyone can fish for free on July 4, a fishing license is required for people age 16 and older on all other days of the year. This includes both public and coastal waters in North Carolina. Purchasing a license online is quick and easy. Other ways to purchase a license are:
Call the Commission at 888-248-6834. Current hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

COOKSTOWN, NEW JERSEY, USA, June 21, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Often called the “Sport of Kings,” horse-racing has always been fascinating for many people and has been the subject of countless movies, novels, and short stories. But while the sport itself is a strong enough topic in and of itself, usually in these stories it is the human element around horse racing that captures the imagination of fans. There are stories of grit and determination by the jockey and the team, the history behind a winning horse, or in the case of author Jeanne Ann Off’s book “Acid and Bribery”, the intrigue and politics that can happen behind the scenes.Jeanne Ann is a native of Western Colorado, growing up in and around cattle ranches. She is an experienced writer who formally started her writing career after going to the Institute of Children’s Literature. She added her experience there on top of her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University as well as a Bible College degree from Faith Bible Institute, all of which played a part in her pursuits. She is a mentee of writers Teri Martini and Patricia Calvert in writing “Acid and Bribery.”
The book is about Tomar El Oro, a three-year-old stakes-winning American Quarter Horse stallion who was seen as the likely winner of the race but mysteriously lost. Kelsey Kelley suspected bribery after overhearing a conversation and started looking for clues until her estranged father suddenly showed up to try and reconnect and make up for lost time. All this would play crucial parts in Kelsey’s story and prove to be a really gripping and fascinating tale overall.
This is definitely a must-have for fans of horse-racing, suspense and mystery, and more. Grab your copy today!

Electro Scan’s DELTA offers a 100x improvement over legacy acoustic sensors to locate and measure leaks expressed in Gallons per Minute or Liters per Second.
Severe drought conditions, high energy costs to treat and pump potable drinking water, and water losses of 20-30% by most water utilities demands more accurate leak detection.
The award-winning DELTA combines Electro Scan + Acoustic + CCTV as part of its patented machine-intelligent multi-sensor solution.
Drought conditions in the Western United States now feared to be the worst in nearly 1,200 years.
Chuck Hansen is scheduled to present at the E+E Solutions Summit ’21 appearing on both days to discuss WATER & SEWER leak location & quantification.
Breakthrough Technology Overcomes Age-Old Problems of Listening for Water Leaks
We are delighted to help overhaul the antiquated approaches of hearing [Acoustic], seeing [CCTV Cameras], or sniffing [Helium Tracers] for leaks.”
— Chuck Hansen, CEO & Founder, Electro Scan Inc.
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, USA, June 21, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Electro Scan Inc. announced today that the company received the ‘Top Product of the Year Award’ from the elite Environment + Energy Leader Awards program for its groundbreaking DELTA pressure pipeline water leak detection product. The company’s innovative DELTA inspection solution uses low-voltage electric current to overcome age-old limitations of acoustic methods that have traditionally relied on hearing underground leaks.Electron Scan’s award will be presented at the 6th Annual Environment + Energy Leader Solutions Summit, July 20 & 21, 2021, where the company will be featured both days presenting its game-changing leak detection solutions for Water [DAY ONE] helping utilities address severe drought conditions and boil water notifications and Wastewater [DAY TWO] replacing less accurate Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to solve persistent flooding & sewer backups, and certify repairs as watertight.
Not influenced by water pipe pressures, flow velocities, pipe materials, or ground conditions, Electro Scan’s patented technology locates leaks to within 3/8 of an inch, then measures the size of each leak’s opening. Seen as a major disruptor to legacy leak detection approaches, Electro Scan is the first solution provider to accurately express leaks in Gallons per Minute or Liters per Second.
“This win is an indication that our expert judges consider Electro Scan’s DELTA machine-intelligent leak detection solution a top example of the exemplary work being done today in the fields of energy and environmental management,” says Sarah Roberts, Environment + Energy Leader publisher.
Electro Scan is a key player in the Energy-Water nexus, where costs for power often rival labor costs to treat and pump potable drinking water to a customer’s tap.
According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), leaking pipes lost an estimated US$7.6 billion of treated water in 2019. And, losses are projected to more than double in the coming decades, reaching over US$16 billion by 2040.
As a result, economic, environmental, and energy savings – and overall water conservation – can be substantially improved by adopting accurate and reliable leak detection methods offered by Electro Scan Inc.
“We are honored to be recognized for excellence in our products & services that best support the critical work by water utilities, consultants, and construction contractors, to deliver essential energy and environmental benefits,” stated Chuck Hansen, Chairman & CEO, Electro Scan Inc.
Water utilities have been searching for innovative solutions to overcome the limited success, subjective data, and false-positive results commonly provided by acoustic hydrophones, data loggers, correlators, permanently installed sensors, and listening sticks.
Even satellites, drones, and low-altitude flyovers that tout pinpoint leak location capabilities fall short of essential leak location accuracy.
While new techniques have focused on desktop analytics based on age, pipe diameter, location, and pipe material, the industry has found little correlation to pipe defects. In fact, based on Electro Scan data many pipes appear to have leaks at joints and service connections that may have existed since their initial installations.
“When you see a missing gasket or angular rock in a joint, precisely where Electro Scan has detected and measured a leak missed by acoustics, you know right away that the pipe was not correctly installed or tested,” states Hansen.
Visual inspection or CCTV cameras, alone, were never an appropriate technology to reliably test or certify pipes as watertight. Despite heavy lobbying by equipment suppliers and contractors to accept new construction or rehabilitation work.
“Electro Scan is telling utilities that sometimes the most relevant question to ask is not a pipe’s material or diameter, but who the contractor was that installed the pipe,” continues Hansen.
And, many new technologies simply lack the ability to identify specific leak locations, or are unable to provide potential leakage rates as expressed in Gallons per Minute or Litres per Second.
In contrast, data generated by the DELTA’s low-voltage conductivity sensor is unambiguous, unbiased, and uncomplicated, allowing field crews and water managers, alike, to readily rank and prioritize capital spending for pipe repairs and rehabilitation.
“At this time, when water managers are faced with making the most of their available capital dollars, DELTA inspection results provide unmatched data quality and accuracy to ‘do more with less’ and serve their rate payers most effectively,” commented Mike Condran, PE, Electro Scan’s Regional Vice President in the Southeast.
“We’re excited to offer such an innovative solution for a wide-variety of applications in potable distribution networks,” continued Condran.
Self-funded, Electro Scan Inc. is garnering worldwide attention from private equity firms and strategic investors interested in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) businesses that provide exciting growth trajectories and help address climate change & water shortages.
Later this week, Chuck Hansen will be a virtual panelist at CleanStart Meetup: WATER, Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, where he will discuss how Electro Scan Inc. can help address California’s historic drought.
Open to the public at no charge, guests may access the CleanStart Meetup: Water Live-Streamed Event via Zoom.
“We are delighted to help overhaul the antiquated approaches of hearing [Acoustic], seeing [CCTV Cameras],or sniffing [Helium Tracers] for leaks,” stated Hansen.
A pioneer in the water industry, Hansen founded and ran one of the largest software companies dedicated to water, sewer, and highway infrastructure management from 1983 to 2007.
In a major repudiation of visual-based inspection techniques, Electro Scan’s technology has already had a major impact on the condition assessment of wastewater pipelines, including gravity and pressurized sewer force mains.
Presented during a separate session at the E+E Leaders Solutions Summit, Hansen will present several worldwide case studies discussing our leading utilities are using Electro Scan technology to address sewer overflows, backups, flooding, and to certify new & rehabilitated pipes as leak-free.
While recent AI applications of have shown CCTV data to be inconsistent and subjective, the additional spotlight on camera-based technology has had the unintended consequence of questioning its overall usefulness for pipe condition assessment.
Afterall, visual-based cameras cannot tell whether a crack goes through a pipe wall, cannot tell if a pipe’s joint is properly sealed, cannot tell if a service connection leaks, and cannot tell if lined pipes using trenchless Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) are watertight.
A current member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Water Condition Assessment Committee and former Chair, ASTM F36.20, Water and Sewer Inspection and Rehabilitation Committee, Hansen has either used or evaluated over 100 different technologies used for pipe condition assessment, holding fifteen (15) international patents in the area of pipe condition assessment.

Spain have yet to win a Euro after their 1-1 draw with Poland on Saturday in Seville in Group E of the Euro. Alvaro Morata gave La Roja a first-half lead before Robert Lewandowski equalised in the second half. Spain are third in group E with 2 points behind Sweden (1st, 4 pts) and Slovakia (2nd, 3 pts). Poland is 4th with 1 point.
As in the first day against Sweden, Spain had to face a well established Polish block. Poland even had the first chance of the game but Mateusz Klich’s shot went just over the bar of Unai Simon’s goal (6th).
Poland’s patience finally paid off as Alvaro Morata scored the first goal of the game. The Spanish striker cut out Gerard Moreno’s cross to surprise Wojciech Szczesny at the near post. The goal was initially ruled out for an offside position, but was eventually validated by VAR (25th).
The game went into extra time, but the Spanish were not to be denied as Gerard Moreno’s free-kick was just wide of Szczesny’s goal (34′). Poland were forced to come forward to equalise and had a double chance when Karol Swiderski hit the post and the ball came back to Robert Lewandowski’s feet, but the Polish striker saw his shot saved by Simon (42′). Moreno came close to making it 2-0 with a few seconds to go but failed to hit the target (45′).
Poland looked more dangerous after the break, with the inevitable Lewandowski on hand to help. The Bayern Munich striker beat Aymeric Laporte to a cross from Kamil Jozwiak and headed the ball past Simon (54′).
It was the first time that Spain had a golden opportunity to regain control of the game. After a VAR intervention, La Roja were awarded a penalty for a foul by Jakub Moder on Gerard Moreno. The Villarreal striker tried to take the penalty himself but his shot hit the post (57′).
Poland, like the rest of the game, were looking for the slightest chance to counterattack. The Spanish did not take advantage of the defensive errors of the White Eagles to score the winning goal, as Morata missed the opportunity (83rd).
The draw did not help Spain, who are now in third place in Group E with 2 points behind Sweden (1st, 4 pts) and Slovakia (2nd, 3 pts). Poland remains last with 1 point.
On the third and final day, Spain will play Slovakia in Seville and Sweden will face Poland in St Petersburg. Both matches are scheduled for 23 June at 18:00.
It looked like the best game of the European Championship and it did not disappoint. Germany came from behind to put ghosts to rest and pull away from a precipice that, for a few minutes, they had been leaning over for a long time. It was too much Mannschaft for Cristiano, who was on target again and is now just two goals behind Ali Daei, the all-time top scorer at international level. He may not like caffeine, but this match had the tension through the roof.
The 7 opened the scoring with an impressive goal: he cleared a corner in his own area, galloped 80 metres and even pushed the ball into the opponent’s box. In the end, it was a mirage. Germany roared back with a vengeance and rolled to a 4-1 lead. It was the afternoon when Atalanta winger Gosens introduced himself to the world: he scored the first (disallowed), made two assists (although officially only one will be counted as the other was an own goal) and scored the fourth.
In the 35th minute, the Portuguese collapse began: Rúben Dias, trying to stop Havertz from pushing a ball, sent it into his own net; and just three minutes later Guerreiro emulated him with Gnabry. The house of cards crumbled at the stroke of a pen. Two own goals in the blink of an eye and the game was suddenly 1-2. After the break, Havertz extended the lead, but this time no one could steal his luck, and Gosens, the hero of the evening, headed past his opponent.
Portugal could have pulled one back, only for Jota to pull one back and Renato’s missile to hit the post. It would have been 3-4, madness. But it came up just inches short. Germany won, which compresses Group F and leaves everything in a fist for the last matchday.

Speaking on the occasion, Paula Lanco – President of the Women’s Rugby Advisory Committee, remarks, “This weekend is going to be a powerful punch of excitement and emotions, we are looking forward to some free-flowing Rugby with many great tries that will make audiences erupt and roar. But more importantly, the women’s tournament is not only a means of entertainment and pride but also an opportunity to inspire millions of women especially girls around the globe to pursue their dreams, fight for equality and to believe that anything can be achieved with hard work, patience, and perseverance. This is a remarkable moment in history that has the potential to ignite the imagination of our future generations. Here’s wishing all the teams all the good luck they need; we absolutely cannot wait to find out which of the two women’s team will make to Tokyo this year.”
With their sight set on an Olympic glory, the respective captains from Madagascar, Tunisia and Zimbabwe teams remain enthused and highly hopeful. The women’s tournament will be particularly enthralling as two of the twelve women’s squads that have arrived in Monaco will be securing their admission into the Olympics club, thereby lending both teams from Africa i.e., Tunisia and Madagascar a chance to be part of global stage and spotlight at the Olympics. With 5,000 world-wide fans watching the tournament live from the stadium, millions are anticipated to tune-in from their homes on digital devices to watch history being made over the weekend. Some viewers from certain locations across the world can access live telecast of the games, however the energy, excitement, joy, and thrill will be experienced by all audiences alike.
“The sport of Rugby as thrill-seeking as it is, carries along with it a rich history, heritage and legacy of undeniable sportsmanship. Outstanding women and men from different parts of Africa have come together to fight for one goal and one trophy. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that this hard work is paid off and we see a flag from the African continent rise in the sky at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. My best wishes are with all the African teams and players.” says Khaled Babbou – President of Rugby Africa. Distributed by APO Group on behalf of Rugby Africa. Women’s Ruby in Africa: On the African continent, women’s rugby has seen tremendous growth. In the last decade it increased from 50 000 female players in 2012, to over 260 000 in 2018 and 350 000 in 2020.
For this tremendous growth to continue, strong leadership in women’s rugby needs to continue, the Women’s Executive Leadership Scholarship is one of the tools that will enable this.
Africa will also be well represented when South Africa participates in the next rugby World Cup women in New Zealand in 2022 and Kenya in the Olympic Games in 2021.
